Exhibitions
HEUTE LEIDER NICHT - GROUP SHOW, staged by Simon Mullan
In “HEUTE LEIDER NICHT,” the selected Berlin-based artists address the time of identity-finding, teenage dreams, subculture, and a sense of belonging with clubs, community, and culture. Opening: Friday, 04.08, 6–8 p.m. Until 09.09. Mon–Sat, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Dittrich & Schlechtriem, Linienstrasse 23, 10178 Berlin.
Paloma Varga Weisz - Wilde Leute
The exhibition features large bronze sculptures representing part-human, part-animal beings inspired by medieval folk tales, symbolizing humanity's primal state. Paloma Varga Weisz's personal experiences in a domestic setting influence the artworks, and a diverse collection of watercolors from 1993 to 2023 unveils her artistic journey. Oswald Wiener – Daheim
Through over 300 photographs taken and printed during his lifetime, Oswald Wiener captured not only the house and its living and working conditions but also transformed them into a profound photographic survey. However, these images transcend their initial purpose and can be perceived as a testament to a realm of thoughts and perceptions—a world with its own factual validity. Until 12.08. Tue-Fri, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m./ Sat, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contemporary Fine Arts, Grolmanstrasse 32/33 10623 Berlin.

Lalai invites: Rebecca & Jared Bassof from Estelle Dining
Estelle Dining is my favorite restaurant in Berlin. There's not a week that goes by when I'm in the city without stopping by for a meal there. Apart from serving the best mushroom pizza and focaccia, I've ever had, I also enjoy their weekday lunches, weekend brunches, and the sunny terrace. The service is always kind, thanks to Rebecca, who manages the restaurant alongside Chef Jared.
Rebecca has an extensive background in hospitality, having worked with top-notch luxury hotel chains in various major cities across the globe. Meanwhile, Chef Jared has been refining his culinary skills since 2006, working in kitchens in Hong Kong, New York, Switzerland, and now, fortunately for us, Berlin.
They gladly share their favorite spots in the city and events they enjoy attending:
Sathutu - There is no place like it in Berlin and we get reminded of a great vacation we had in Sri Lanka.
Süßfein - We have two kids and going out for ice cream is a treat for everyone.
Modulor- A place to get lost & inspired in.
Das grüne Band - We love this bike bath, it is an easy escape out of the city with great spots for a picnic.
Event Tip…. We only know about food events:
Tinman doing a pop-up in Bikini Hotel which is exciting: 5th August 2023, from 12 pm at Aperitivo Bar in a day with food, drinks, DJs, and good vibes.
Adas Deli is popping up in Estelle on the 20th of August.
Not really an event but a very short-lived happening is the Tori Cabin, a yakitori experience, of our friend Jeff Claudio. Only till the end of August so go and check it out!!
