A L’ARME! Festival Vol. X+I
A L’ARME! Vol. X+I is a festival in Berlin that blends jazz with noise, hip-hop, and free jazz. It challenges norms and creates a dialogue between historical breakthroughs and modern developments. The artists' audacious styles inspire the audience to confront new challenges and break free from routines. DEVO: The Farewell Tour - Celebrating 50 Years
After 50 years, Devo bid farewell with a concert in Berlin, celebrating their unique sound and artful visuals. Known for hit tracks like "Whip It" and monochrome overalls, the US band shaped by David Bowie's mixing and Akron, returned to the city where Bowie thrived. Tuesday, 15.08, at 7:30 pm. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Pornceptual, a fetish and sex-positive party in Berlin, presents a great lineup of techno and house artists, including the ever-dark and unmissable set by Curses, along with The Lady Machine, Projekt Gestalten, and Deepnue. It's the month when enthusiasts of dance can experience captivating performances by renowned choreographers from around the world in the 35th edition of “Tanz im August.” Although some sessions are already sold out, attempting to secure a spot at the door one hour before the show is certainly worthwhile. C A R C A Ç A by Marco da Silva Ferreira
What is the driving force of a collective body? How do traditions change in the context of colonialism? And what might folklore look like in today’s dance spaces? “C A R C A Ç A” approaches these questions directly, by bringing together different practices and dance forms. The Romeo by Trajal Harrell / Schauspielhaus Zürich Dance Ensemble
Imagine a dance that could be at home in countless different places and times. One that is danced by people of all generations and genders, of all temperaments and moods. Toi, moi, Tituba by Dorothée Munyaneza
How can we bring something to life if it is no longer there? Munyaneza creates a space for remembrance to resonate. She dances and sings on behalf of all those whose existence was denied by the colonial system. The work celebrates unheard, untold stories and lives, of Elsa Dorlin's Guyanese great-great-grandmother, or Tituba, a Caribbean woman persecuted in the Salem witch trials. INSEL by Ginevra Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi
Continuing their explorations of urban environments and natural landscapes through performance, the duo Panzetti / Ticconi now delve into islands: symbols of isolation. Using this geographical and symbolic theme as a starting point, their choreography for four dancers centers on individuals, their inner worlds, and the profound depths of self. Ether’s Bloom: A Program on Artificial Intelligence
Gropius Bau's AI program, "Ether's Bloom," explores the utopian and poetic potential of AI through artistic projects, podcasts, lectures, an educational app, and a "Writer in Residence" initiative. It collaborates with artists, writers, and scientists to question AI's creative impact, encouraging intergenerational discussions about its ethics and impact on humanity. Julius von Bismarck combines family history with nature's interpretation in his exhibit "When Platitudes Become Form". ✨ Mateus invites: Marcio Vargas from Casa +55
Marcio Vargas, the founder of Casa +55 private gallery in Mannheim, is an interior designer and photographer who aims to showcase and promote Brazilian culture. He sees Berlin as a city of constant renewal while staying connected to history. “Here, we feel a community that has freedom, where people can live and express their essence.” That's why he loves sitting by a café window, watching people pass by to the sound of his playlists.

Berlin Beats at Hamburger Bahnhof: Every Thursday until 31 August, 7 - 10 pm. Free Admission. This Thursday: Orson Sieverding’s sets echo London's dub and bass, shaped by sound system culture and Caribbean vibes.

Picnic Concert at Silent Green: Open-air concerts with headphones in Silent Green’s garden. Saturday, from 7 pm. Free Admission - reservation here.
