Hello!
Our top recommendation for this weekend is Berlin Atonal, taking place at Kraftwerk until September 17th. Festival highlights for this weekend include performances by Laurel Halo, Caterina Barbieri, and Florentina Holzinger.
We'd also like to highlight the "Tanznacht Festival," featuring a 25-hour dance marathon, "Mother Tongue," an encyclopedia about reproduction in the 21st century, and "SPIEGEL IM SPIEGEL," a multi-screen cinema journey by Vincent Moon that spans 72 hours.
While most art galleries are gearing up for Berlin Art Week next week, Wilhelm Hallen will open its doors on Saturday for the K60 exhibition, featuring 20 art galleries from the city. This weekend also hosts "Open Heritage Day," we highly recommend visiting the iconic Messe Berlin.
We've invited our friend, multimedia artist Andressa Cantergiani, who has kindly shared her list of favorite city libraries that she frequents and holds dear.
Have a great weekend!

Lalai invites Andressa Cantergiani
Andressa Cantergiani is a Brazilian multidisciplinary and multimedia artist currently living in Berlin. She has a Ph.D. in Visual Poetics and participated in a residency program in 2022, collaborating with Weltoffenes Fellowship, neue häute e.V., and insurgencias.net on "The Amazonas Project." In 2021, her work was showcased at the "Museo de la Democracia" exhibition at NGBK Berlin.
She recently had a residence program at the Onsite Festival at Brücke Museum, where she developed “Trepadeira - Immersive Performative Augmented-Reality-Filter Installation.” Whenever I want to visit new exhibitions, she is my go-to source. Here, she shares what not to miss over the weekend and her favorite spot in Berlin:
She loves working from the city's libraries, and her favorite one is the Preußischer Kulturbesitz, where Wim Wenders filmed "Der Himmel über Berlin" and it offers a great view of the Neue Nationalgalerie.
“Unleashed Utopias: Artistic Speculations about Today and Tomorrow in the Metaverse”: Utopias are based on questions like: What happens when you change a few rules? How can we live well together? In this way, utopias always carry significant potential for societal change and visions of a better future. From 09.09 until 05.11. Haus am Lützowplatz, Lützowpl. 9, 10785 Berlin.
The Hopscotch Reading Room, in addition to being one of her favorite bookstores due to its curation of art books, she highly recommends the book launch event for "Planetary Embodiment: Cooking with Words for Systemic Change & Solidarity," a book woven together by many voices, including her own.
