The Next Day #34: Berlin Weekend Guide
From 25 until 28.12: Slowdive, CTM/transmediale, Pearls and The Oysters, Valie Export, and more....
Hallo,
The highlight of the weekend is the opening of the CTM Festival/transmediale, taking place at various venues in Berlin. We've prepared a special guide with our highlights and also selected some festival events happening this weekend.
The weekend kicks off with a show by Slowdive, known for their blend of ethereal melodies and dreamy atmospheres. But if you missed out on tickets, we recommend checking out the performance by the Californian/French duo Pearls & The Oysters.
Refuge Worldwide celebrates its third anniversary with an extensive lineup between Oona Bar and arkaoda. You just need to choose where to go.
Two exhibitions deserve a spotlight: the Valie Export retrospective at C/O Berlin and Oceanic Refractions at silent green, part of the CTM/transmediale program.
For those who have never witnessed the work of the Berlin-based collective Rimini Protokoll, the world premiere of 'Dies ist keine Botschaft (Made in Taiwan)' at Haus der Berliner Festspiele awaits you this weekend. If you're already familiar with their work, we're sure you've secured your ticket!
If you want to escape the city hustle, we recommend the extension of the Edvard Munch exhibition at the Barberini Museum in Potsdam. For a delightful combination of art and food, check out these two restaurants: the Italian Genusswerkstatt or the delicious Vietnamese spot My Keng.

Clockwork Orange explores the hazy origins of violence, an issue that we can afford to look at in a much more differentiated manner today, 60 years after the novel’s publication: Nowadays, we not only rate physical attacks and especially vulgar transgressions as brute force but also much more subtle impositions that (may) cast doubt upon people. What does violence mean today?
