Hallo! Are you ready for this summer? 💥
If you have been following us since our inaugural post, you may have noticed that we are two Brazilians living in Berlin. Coincidentally, several cultural festivals are happening in Berlin this weekend, with talented Brazilians spearheading these events. One of them is our beloved Festa Junina, which takes place throughout June on the streets in Brazil, featuring music and typical delicious food to celebrate the feast of Saint John. This festival will have a special edition in Berlin, the “Arraiá da Bossa,” on Saturday at Festsaal Kreuzberg.
To kick off the official arrival of summer, the Kultursommerfestival will debut on Saturday and run until September, occupying various spaces throughout the city. This is a great opportunity if you prefer outdoor events.
If you’re looking for a dancefloor, we suggest the Krake Festival at ://aboutblank, which features 36 hours of non-stop partying, offering a variety of electronic music genres.
The 48 Hours Neukölln, the diverse art and cultural festival, will take place on Saturday with an extraordinary opportunity to explore local art galleries and visit artists' studios and unique spaces in Neukölln.
The “Berlin Beats” concert series continues at Hamburger Bahnhof’s garden until the 31st of August. You can groove to the sounds of DJ and producer David Lieske this Thursday from 7 pm to 10 pm.
We highly recommend visiting the “Kaloki Nyamai: Dining in Chaos” exhibition at Gallerie Barbara Thumm. It’s your last chance!
We hope you have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Lalai & Mateus

🗓 Save the Date
Special Interest (Concert)
Special Interest, a band from New Orleans, fearlessly combines dance grooves, electronic textures, and hardcore riffs, transcending genre limitations. Dance music and punk culture have flirted in the warehouse before, but Special Interest’s desire to dismantle the genre is shaped by a larger abolitionist worldview that resists constraint, category, and conformity. The music is a soundtrack for dancing the pain away as much as raging against injustice. Don’t miss this chance to experience Berghain if you haven't already. Tuesday, 27.06, Doors: 7 pm / Show: 8 pm. Berghain.
Jay-Jay Johansson (Concert)
Jay-Jay Johanson is back with his hypnotic trip-hop melodies, blending jazzy drums, electronic nuances, and acoustic accents. His work evokes feelings that would ask us to see him as Chet Baker of our time. His new album “Fetish” explores romanticized pain and everyday themes, accompanied by piano, trumpet, guitar, and samples. Prepare for an evening of introspective melodies about life's paradoxes. Thursday, 08.10, Silent Green.
