Must-Go Events in Berlin: March 7th to 10th
The highlight in Berlin this weekend is International Women's Day, with the city bustling with demos, discussions, and events focusing on gender equality and women's rights. We've handpicked parties, concerts, and performances spotlighting women, along with a list of demos for Friday.
This weekend's big concert features Fever Ray, boasting stunning scenography and the powerful voice of Karin Dreijer. We highly recommend Postcards for a dreamy pop night and Loraine James for electronic tunes and R&B. Check out "Angry Women" concert which explores female empowerment and anger in the male-dominated music industry.
It's refreshing to see so many parties with women leading the line-up, which isn't common around here. "Va(Riot)y" at Renate is a great pick for house and techno lovers, and don't miss the debut of MAGMA if you’re a fan of bass and breakbeats.
This weekend's most disputed ticket in town is undoubtedly "Club Amour," presented by Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch + Terrain Boris Charmatz.
Several exhibitions are opening this week, but if you haven't had the chance, we recommend "Flow: The Exhibition on Menstruation" at the Museum Europäischer Kulturen.

Xmal Deutschland
In the rebellious city of Hamburg, five daring women formed Xmal Deutschland. Their raw sound emerged in the early 1980s, releasing the singles "Schwarze Welt" and 🎧 "Incubus Succubus." The band released four albums before disbanding in 1990. Now, in 2024, "Early Singles (1981-1982)" marks their foundational journey. The best stop for this Friday if you're more into rock-and-roll.
