Must-Go Events in Berlin: March 14th to 17th
Spring is coming, and for those who enjoy watching cherry blossoms bloom, the alley behind Mauerpark is bustling.
Although it's only Wednesday, we couldn't resist mentioning the YĪN YĪN concert in our weekend guide. Tickets are still available! Our most awaited concert is Roísín Murphy's performance, even though tickets are sold out. However, last-minute tickets often become available.
For fans of adventurous music, the MaerzMusik Festival is a perfect choice. On Saturday, we're torn between two parties: one hosted by the labels Midgar and Amenthia Recordings at Fitzroy, and another featuring DJ Stingray 313 at Zenner.
If you admire Susanne Kennedy's work, don't miss the latest presentation of JESSICA – an Incarnation at Volksbühne. We also highlight the Forecast Festival at Radialsystem, which features six artistic projects.
Several new exhibitions are opening this week. We're excited to visit "Noa Eshkol: No Time To Dance" at Georg Kolbe Museum and "Day Off" at f³ – freiraum für fotografie.
To kick off the weekend, we'll be (re)visiting the fantastic exhibition "Extreme Tension" at the Neue Nationalgalerie this Thursday. It’s free admission after 4 pm. Natalia Escobar will play disco music on the decks from 6 pm onwards. Bring a date, have a drink, and get your disco on!

Six Pianos - Steve Reich Six Pianos & Terry Riley Keyboards Study #2

Pikowaja Dama - Queen of Spades

The Queen of Spades, Tchaikovsky’s second most popular opera after Eugene Onegin, delights audiences due to its sheer scale, among other qualities. The mood switches effortlessly from full chorus and ensemble to delicate chamber scenes.
Forecast Festival

The festival ranges from performances and installations to readings, talks, and workshops. Six projects by artists, performers, musicians, and poets will be premiered at the festival after ten months of collaborating with renowned mentors.
Prinz Friedrich von Homburg

Heinrich von Kleist’s final play, written in 1810/11 just a few months before his suicide, draws its potential for conflict from the dichotomies stemming from Homburg’s refusal to obey orders, namely individual freedom versus the requirements of the state and feeling versus the (military) duty to obey. Is the Prince a hero or a maverick? Dreamer or traumatized?
JESSICA – an Incarnation

Susanne Kennedy has conceived her piece which sketches the story of a prophetess. Her text follows a hyperlink dramaturgy, she compiles materials from forums and blogs on the internet, interviews, and religious texts.
Noa Eshkol: No Time To Dance

The Georg Kolbe Museum celebrates Noa Eshkol's 100th birthday with an exhibition spotlighting her pioneering work as a choreographer and dancer. "No Time to Dance" focuses on her research into movement, choreographies, language studies, dances, and her innovative notation system.
'I write (stitch) what I like' by Senzeni Marasela
Opening: Thursday, 14.03, 5-8 pm. Bode, Reinbeckstr. 29, 12459 Berlin.
For over twenty years, Marasela has documented Theodorah's story, a figure that represents her mother and an alter ego of herself. Through literature and archives, Marasela reconstructs the trauma of waiting and displacement during apartheid in South Africa. The exhibition showcases Theodorah's journey through various mediums, always accompanied by the symbolic red color.
A Day Off

This photo exhibition visualizes the manifestations of our leisure culture with a wink: people feast, sizzle, smoke, sweat, and work out as much as they can. Some scenes are no longer conceivable today. With works by Diane Arbus, Katharina Bosse, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and others.
Group Show: ‘The Breath of a House is the Sound of Voices Within’

Refuge in the Vegetal World by Miya Masaoka

Miya Masaoka’s solo exhibition "Refuge in the Vegetal World" explores the collaborative possibilities between humans and more-than-human entities through sound. The opening happens with Miya's live performance "Anamnesis." This program is a part of the MaerzMusik 2024 edition.
Stil vor Talent Instore with Oliver Koletzki
