The Next Day #43: Berlin Weekend Guide
Must-Go Events in Berlin this holiday: March 28th to April 2nd, Plus a Mini-Guide by Neighborhood
Four days of holiday with the temperature rising on the thermometer. If the forecast is correct on Saturday, it's worth a day at the lake to replenish vitamin D.
Thursday celebrates Piano Day. We've selected two concerts at two of our favorite venues in Berlin: KM28 and Silent Green. On Friday, the ‘giegling’ label hosts a long night at Funkhaus is on our radar, and the Easter celebrations at Berghain/Panorama Bar, with a lineup that doesn't disappoint. The party starts on Saturday and extends until Tuesday, but we have our eye on Monday afternoon.
We've talked about "Ophelia's Got Talent" by Florentina Holzinger quite a bit, but if you haven't seen it yet, we highly recommend heading to Volskbühne this weekend. At the same place this Thursday you can join the third edition of Sissy Smut curated by Matt Lambert.
If you want to enjoy the holiday catching up on museum programming, we've made a list of exhibitions worth visiting, some of which are in their final days. On our list, we want to visit Das Kleine Grosz Museum, which showcases exhibitions by George Grosz and is located in a former gas station from the 1950s with a great café.
We've also created a mini-guide divided by our four favorite neighborhoods in the city.
Stay in the loop with Berlin's latest news in English through 20 Percent Berlin. Get a sneak peek of our weekend guide every Tuesday.
It sounds strange, but it’s true. Dance events are officially forbidden this Friday, and you aren’t allowed to put on musical events of any kind if they take place where drinks are served. That’s not all, public sporting events are also banned if they’re accompanied by music or other entertainment. The restriction applies from 4 am to 9 pm on Good Friday.
We wish everyone a Happy Easter.
