Must-go events in Berlin: October 17th to 20th
Beautiful, chilly autumn days are perfect for more intimate events. These days, we've been dividing our time between catching plays and going to experimental music gigs.
Our top picks are Zaho de Sagazan with her mix of French chanson and electronic beats, and Danish artist Puce Mary with her harsh noise, who we’re big fans of.
With less FOMO this time of year, we’re also exploring parties featuring new sounds and noticing how the TikTok era is giving pop a fresh twist—everything is shorter, faster, and often louder. Trauma Bar und Kino is a great spot to discover new sounds. Creamcake’s 3hd is a project to watch if you want to stay close to the zeitgeist.
For theater, our choice are Constanza Macras' The Hunger and Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione. It's also the last weekend to catch Luiz Roque’s beautiful exhibition Estufa at KW. If you haven’t seen it yet, we highly recommend it.

🎧 Stolen is a Chinese indie band formed in 2009. Their sound fuses techno, dark-wave, and post-punk, offering a mix of rock energy and electronic restraint. Produced by Mark Reeder, they gained international attention, including touring with New Order.

I'm curious about these artists popping up on TikTok, like Inji, a Turkish-born musician based in New York. Her music leans a bit too pop for me, but I have to admit, I’m interested to see her live. But to be fair, she’s not just a TikTok artist—she’s also a pianist. 🎧 GASLIGHT.
Puce Mary + Tot Onyx

Dwam: Gaza solidarity fundraiser

The Mapping Sounds in Exile Festival presents a listening session moderated by Carmen Herold from 7 pm. The Hunger by Constanza Macras

The Hunger traces the paths of European colonizers in the Rio de la Plata region during the early 16th century. A group of indigenous people attacks Spanish colonizers in what's now northern Argentina. Cannibalistic rituals in the story symbolize various forms of greed, from colonialism and consumerism to the relentless hyperproduction of the present moment on social media.

The latest work by Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker was created in collaboration with Moroccan choreographer Radouan Mriziga. The musical foundation is Antonio Vivaldi’s 'Four Seasons,' a Baroque masterpiece that also serves as an ode to nature.
John Baldessari: Ahmedabad 1992

The rarely seen multi-paneled works that stem from Baldessari´s stay in the Shahibaug district of Ahmedabad in India in 1992, are a direct response to his new surroundings, which were inspiring and overwhelming in equal measure and had a lasting impact on the artist´s oeuvre.
Jens Pecho: Things That Are Over

In Things That Are Over Pecho presents several new works in dialogue with selected early pieces. Edith Dekyndt: Animal Methods
