The Next Table Season 1: Friday Lunch
The perfect excuse to break the routine on a Friday
Hi! We have news!
Created in collaboration with photographer Angelo Dal Bó, “The Next Table” is a weekly project built around a simple idea: lunch on a Friday as if the weekend had already started. We visit restaurants we know and love, places where the food is thoughtful, the energy is good, and time slows down just enough. Every Friday morning, we publish a new episode on Instagram. This first season features 8 places across Berlin. Season two is already in the works, with a new focus, but the table will remain at the center because that’s where things happen.
We visited Estelle Dining in Prenzlauer Berg and Trio in Mitte for the first two episodes.
Estelle Dining offers European cuisine that’s bright, creative, and made with care. A sunny terrace and a relaxed pace make it an ideal spot to ease into the weekend.
Trio serves German food with a fresh perspective, comforting, precise, and quietly elegant. The space, full of soft light and calm design, invites you to stay longer than you meant to.
Between tables, we visited two great stops along the way:
– at Tenzan Lab., we tried kakigōri with mango, a Japanese shaved ice dessert that’s all fluff and flavor — definitely worth a stop.
– at the new kolo coffee, we stopped for an espresso at a roastery focused on good coffee, served in a clean, minimal space.
We’re just getting started. There are six more spots to come this season.
If you have a favorite place for a laid-back Friday lunch in Berlin, drop us a message in the comments or by email — we’re always up for a good tip.
Follow us on Instagram — there’s a new table every Friday.

Weekend pick:
This Sunday, we’re trading the table for the stage — but staying with things that move us.
Brazilian choreographer Deborah Colker brings “Dog Without Feathers” to Berlin: a powerful, poetic piece inspired by João Cabral de Melo Neto’s iconic poem. Fourteen dancers, striking visuals by Cláudio Assis, and movement that feels both raw and ritual.
It’s about the Capibaribe River, but also about everything it carries — bodies, memories, landscapes. We’ll be there.
Cia de Dança Deborah Colker – Cão Sem Plumas / Dog Without Feathers
Sunday, 13.04, 8 pm. Admiralspalast, Friedrichstraße 101, Berlin.
Tickets: €32.50 – €77.85
